The Beatles released two albums in 1965: Help! and Rubber Soul. While the latter received more critical acclaim and proved to be a turning point in the Fab Four’s career, Help!, (which also served as a soundtrack to their movie of the same name), contained some of their most enduring songs.Help! showcases the continuing artistic growth and diversity of the band, with influences ranging from country and bluegrass to classical chamber music, with a strong nod to Bob Dylan. In addition to the hit title track, (which Lennon had originally written as a ballad), the album’s standout tracks include “Ticket To Ride” and McCartney’s “Yesterday,”which is often cited as the most frequently covered and performed song in pop music history, with over 2200 recordings by various artists.

Help! was the fifth release by the Beatles and was the last statement from their original “Beatlemania” period, before launching into new territory with Rubber Soul, Revolver, and Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band. (Buy it here.)
